One Of The UK’s Top Seaside Resorts Is Bude – Cornwall

You will find Bude – Cornwall to be the perfect destination for a lazy, long summer holiday. This buzzing seaside resort has been attracting visitors since the days of Queen Victoria. It is well known for its superb scenery and gorgeous beaches.

You will soon understand why Bude is so popular with holiday makers. All surrounding villages, towns and attractions are less than one and a half hour’s drive from the resort. Bude is situated on the Cornwall/Devon border so visitors can explore the best of both counties.

Surfers from all corners of the world travel to Bude to take advantage of the brilliant surfing conditions. The popular venues are at Crackington Haven and the nearby Widemouth Bay.

The beaches are perfect for swimming and water sports. In the summer period, vigilant lifeguards are on standby to ensure the safety of bathers. If you would rather keep away from the ocean rollers, you can have a leisurely swim in the beautiful seawater pool near Summerleaze Downs.

If bird watching is your thing, you will find plenty to see in this region. For those who like walking, a walk along the top of the cliffs will give you a marvelous view of the scenery. If you are more energetic, try the rather strenuous coastal path walk and give your heart a good workout.

Rain or shine, there is always something to do in Bude. Nearby towns and villages such as Tintagel, Boscastle, Padstow, Port Isaac and Clovelly are all steeped in history and you can see many fascinating attractions. The fishing village of Clovelly is especially charming with its cobbled streets. It is one of the most photographed villages in England.

Bude is not short of family entertainment facilities. You can visit theme parks or the leisure center, or spend a rainy day at Harlequinns. This is a 10-lane tenpin bowling center with a six-level play area for children. It also has a licensed bar and a snack cafe.

The Donkey Park is the only donkey sanctuary in Cornwall. Located in the lovely countryside, it is home to more than 30 donkeys. Other residents include goats, sheep, ponies, rabbits and pigs. There is a fun barn called The Donkey Drop-In where the kids can play if it’s raining.

The sanctuary’s only source of income is from entry fees and the Adopt-a-Donkey project. Children can enjoy donkey rides. You will also find a peaceful picnic area, a gift shop and a cafe here. During your Bude – Cornwall holiday, the sanctuary is the perfect venue for a relaxing day outdoors.
